Opening a door that cannot be shut, I feed crisp air to flames older than memory. Fires from the bridges you burn will light your way. May they free you and free us all. An inferno generations in the making.

Vivian (she/her) is a Chinese American artist and archivist who finds solace in the margins of shared histories and folk tales. Drawing from traditions of feminist surrealism, early 20th century children’s book illustrations, and East Asian urban legends, her work explores the anxiety, wonder, and unknown in the margins of dreamscapes, liminal spaces, urban legends, and public history. Born and raised in San Francisco, Vivian works as an archivist/arts manager by day and visual artist by night. Her work has been exhibited in galleries and museums in California, Utah, and New York. Her clients include Copic Markers, Hot Topic, and Judge & Jury Records. Additionally, she has exhibited at pop culture events and fairs across the United States. She has an MA in Museum Studies and a BFA.
