Hailee Tran

Hailee Tran is a Vietnamese American multimedia artist. She is a CSUF student set to graduate in the fall with a Bachelor of Arts with a Concentration in Teaching. This is her first exhibition in a public gallery.

The relationship between smoking and Generation Z is a complex and evolving one. Utilizing crochet as a medium is the first spark in hoping to understand and decipher the impact of smoking on our generation.

Just One was produced to reflect the topic of addiction in regards to smoking with people my age. Research has indicated that despite being aware of the negative health impacts, Gen Z is drawn to dependence-causing substances such as tobacco. Within my own life, I have witnessed individuals and communities close to me develop smoking addictions. These experiences and observations have inspired the creation of this piece and an ongoing discourse I hope to continue.
